Our Writing Rincón

Rincón is the Spanish word for a ‘corner’ or a ‘remote place’ and, once you are here, you will see why I love this particular corner of Andalucia.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided in collaboration with our partner Sierra Alta Apartments. This small family-run business has just six apartments providing a sense of space and tranquillity.

Each apartment has a balcony or a terrace; perfect for watching the sunset over the mountains with a glass of wine after a day’s writing. When you need to stretch, there’s a salt-water pool with breath-taking views and loungers. 

Winter stays

For those looking for a cosy winter stay, the apartments have heating plus an inviting wood burner or open fire in the lounge area for the cool mountain evenings

At Sierra Alta Apartments, you are never far from the local amenities and the excellent restaurants whilst also enjoying the energy and tranquillity of the mountains.  The apartments are situated on the edge of a beautiful white village.

Fully equipped with a small kitchen area, your apartment gives you the freedom to write, eat or relax on your balcony or the outdoor terrace. There’s a lounge area with a dining table which you can write from and WIFI. The outdoor salt water pool, sun terrace and spectacular views add to the experience.

Feel at home in nature as you tune into the sounds of the local donkey braying and the bells of the goats trotting past on their way home.

If, at any time, you are in need of a distraction, the bustling town of Ubrique is a 10-minute drive away. Home to some of Spain’s best leather factories and workshops, you´ll find top quality leather goods at great prices. Jerez de la Frontera is approximately an hour by car and Seville is about 90 minutes away. There are also opportunities to hike, bird watch, sky dive, cycle, abseil and rock climb with local guides and companies.
